Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 29, 2024

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the btcvaults platform (the "Service") operated by us. Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms.

1. Service Description

btcvaults is a software platform that provides tools for creating, managing, and coordinating transactions for non-custodial Bitcoin multisignature vaults. We are not a financial institution, custodian, or wallet provider. You and your designated co-signers are in sole control of your Bitcoin private keys and assets.

2. User Obligations

  • You are responsible for the security of your own private keys, passwords, and any hardware wallets used in conjunction with the Service.
  • You agree not to use the Service for any illegal activities.
  • You are responsible for understanding how Bitcoin, multisignature wallets, and Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions (PSBTs) work. The Service is a tool to assist you, but it does not remove your responsibility to verify all transaction details.

3. Fees and Payments

Certain services, such as active vaults created from advisor templates, require subscription payments. All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. By using these services, you agree to their terms and conditions.

4. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties. In no event shall btcvaults be liable for any damages, including but not limited to, loss of funds, profits, or data, arising out of the use or inability to use the Service. Because we are a non-custodial service, we have no ability to recover lost private keys or reverse transactions.

5. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

6. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
